This is the cottage you've been looking for. An escape from ordinary life, tucked away in the Lake Michigan sand dunes near the Oxbow School of Art campus. You will feel as though you've been transported into another time and place. This secluded, quiet, wooded setting is truly magical!
Take joy in the slower pace and be off the beaten path. Relax on the wrap-around covered porch with your morning cup of coffee while listening to the songs of the local birds. If Lake Michigan is calling your name, you have the option of walking, biking, or driving to the Oval Beach which is only 1.2 miles by road. Mt. Baldhead is 0.5 of a mile away for great hiking and beautiful views, and then perhaps a backside hike down to Oval Beach! The Chain Ferry is nearby as well, 0.7 from the cottage, and will take you across the river into the heart of Saugatuck for great shopping and dining. In the evenings, you'll want to gather around the fire pit to make s'mores and laugh about times gone by or sit at the table chatting, playing cards, assembling puzzles, or playing board games.

Perfect spot for our college friend reunion weekend! We had a blast drinking wine by the fire, shopping all day in town and eating at some of the fun local haunts. The kitchen was stocked amazingly well! The fire pit was a huge plus for us. We will be back for sure!

Celebrated a 40th birthday with 3 couples here. House was wonderful and cute and had everything all of us needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pans and dishes youll need which was great. We loved how private and comfortable the house is. The only drawbacks are that there is limited parking (we had to jam 3 cars into the small space) and you have to go into town to get your house keys. We would highly recommend to other small groups.

This place was such a gem. From the unique decor that gave it a personal touch, to the beautiful location, we had an all around amazing trip. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back soon.

Great location - close to the beaches, sand dunes and tucked away. A perfect escape from the city. Really enjoyed our stay here! The location was really nice and there was a great hike just down the road. Enjoyed our escape from the city here!

We had a fantastic time. The house was perfect for my family and just like the pictures. We really enjoyed the wrap around porch with a nice porch swing and the fire pit outside. The location was very relaxing, private, and easy access to the beach, walking trails, and the town. The sunsets on the beach were amazing!! It couldnt have been more perfect. At night we played board games at the kitchen table. The rooms and the inside of the house was also perfect for us and just as described. I cant wait to visit again. I have to also say that the hosts were absolutely perfect. From booking, to check in, to answering questions, to check out, they were extremely responsive and kind and willing to help. That alone makes a trip worthwhile. I would definitely rent from them again.

This vacation home was AMAZING and everything my husband and I needed for a recharge. The Crows Nest hiking trail in walking distance was great to foster our outdoorsy side and then being so close to town and also other "lake towns" was amazing. The quiet and peacefulness was all I needed after the craziness of working face first in COVID for a year to date. Its a great location that allows for adventure and a little city life.

Super cute house, saw lots of deer. Nice accommodations, great local store. Its a managed property, so it feels sterile, which I enjoyed. If youre not into religious imagery, be aware there is some in here. Me and my two friends had a great time.

This property is so special! Nestled in the quiet woods of Mount Baldhead Park - we truly felt like we were able to escape, unwind, and fully relax. Mill Pond was an excellent realtor for the property and the home itself delivered beyond our expectations. We hope to come back soon!

This space was perfect for a girls weekend getaway! Close to lots of wineries and shops. No issue finding a spot to dine in or order carry out. It is a little difficult to see if you arrive after dark but its manageable. Communication was great and all directions were accurate. Id definitely stay at this house again!

We were so lucky to stay in this house! We had a girls weekend with our moms and had the best time. We enjoyed the 2 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My group loved our time at the Art Coast Cottage and exploring Saugatuck. We really appreciated the privacy that this home offers -- it was so peaceful being tucked off a quiet road in the woods where we could enjoy the fire pit and the porch together. Downtown Saugatuck is a quick (and very scenic!) drive. Our stay was very comfortable but some modern amenities like keyless entry and providing shampoo/conditioner would make this place 10/10. Of course we just packed our own toiletries and are already planning to return to Saugatuck in Summer 2021!

We stayed in this beautiful house for 4 nights. We could have easily extended our stay as we loved it. The location: if you are looking for a secluded spot, this is it for you. Situated in the ox bow campus, you will be away from the city. No traffic no neighbors. Saugatuck downtown is just 15 minutes drive. Its actually right across the river but the access is through a bridge little further. The amenities: everything was is great shape, kids loved the porch swing and outdoor fire pit. Watch out for early morning deers roaming around the house. Such a pleasant sight! The beds are comfortable, ample space to lounge and eat. Parking was no issue as we just had one car. Kitchen utensils were fully loaded. Overall we had a great experience and would love to be back!

My family of four stayed at the Art Cottage for a long weekend getaway. Saugatuck is a wonderful lakeside town. The Art Cottage is tucked away in the private Oxbow School of Art. The location is secluded and provides a nice retreat for the family. The property is clean and spacious. We enjoyed the fire pit. Great location for Oval Beach and Mount Baldhead Park. The historic downtown is a short drive away. Theres a short portion of the drive to/from the cottage that is single-lane, something to note if you arrive after-dark like we did.

This lovely gem of a house is located right next to Ox-Bow so it will fulfill your need for a peaceful and beautiful setting. Because the chain ferry isnt open during the off-season wed recommend bringing a bike if youd prefer to be car-free during your stay. We did walk to dinner in Douglas the first night and had so much fun walking home as a group in the dark but be prepared for a 5-mile roundtrip stroll. The nearby hiking trail was the perfect post-breakfast activity and we loved biking to breakfast on our last morning there. We will definitely be renting this house again! The outdoor space is incredible!

Beautiful place in a stunning and peaceful location. Access to everything but still secluded. Right on the art school campus which is very unique and interesting to be a part of. Would stay here again. Highly recommend.
