Birdie Cottage is the ideal place for a relaxing getaway with your closest friends.
Spend the evening on the spacious back deck grilling up a delicious meal with the sparkle of fairy lights just overhead and millions of stars in the distance. The outdoor dining table provides a place for not only a meal, but also a game of cards, a few beverages, and laughter while making memories. The surrounding nature, including mature trees, will make you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.
Located just a 1/2 mile from the center of downtown Saugatuck, you'll never be short of things to do. Shops, restaurants, ice cream, parks, and people-watching are all just an easy stroll away. Birdie Cottage is also located across the street from the bike path which extends south into Douglas and north all the way to Grand Haven. If you're after Lake Michigan beaches and the sand between your toes, we have that too! The Saugatuck Dunes State Park, with hiking trails and beautiful beaches, is an easy 3-minute car ride or 15-minute bike. The Oval Beach and Douglas Beach are also easily accessible with just a 7-minute drive.
You will fall in love with the interior of Birdie Cottage. Enter through the huge screen porch, with relaxing chairs and outside dining, to a great room complete with soaring ceilings. The comfortable living room furniture and Smart TV is perfect for kicking back and watching a movie. The equipped kitchen with stainless appliances also has an island with snack bar seating. The farmhouse sink with an oversized window overlooking the backyard provides a sweet touch of character.
The unique primary bedroom is a lofted space with a large queen bed. The separate den off the living room provides extra sleeping on the day bed with a trundle that can be set up as 1 twin, 2 twins, or 1 king. The full bathroom in this home is a true treasure. With stone flooring, farmhouse-style lighting, and a claw foot bath, you'll love your time here. For a real treat, sink into a tub full of bubbles and watch the trees out the adjacent picture window.

Please Note
- The bathroom has a door for privacy, but no other rooms do. Both the lofted bedroom and the den are open to the main living area.
- Heating is central throughout the house. Air conditioning is provided by a wall unit in the living room that cools the entire cottage.
- There are no window coverings in the living room. Most windows have trees just outside them, but you can see the neighboring house in a few places.
- The stairs and bedroom loft have low ceilings making it hard to stand upright except in the middle of the bedroom area.
- The den has an Ikea Hemnes day bed with a trundle. This can be set up as 1 twin, 2 twins, or 1 king.
- There is no cable service provided. There is a Smart TV so you can stream all your favorite apps. Please remember to log out before your departure.
- The fireplace is not available for use.

We had a great stay at Birdie Cottage. The cottage is beautiful: great natural light, a cozy living room (with a fireplace), and charming vintage touches throughout. It was the perfect amount of space for the two of us and our dog for the long weekend. The fully-fenced backyard was great for letting the dog out and while we were there in January, we imagine the deck would be great for eating and entertaining outside in the warmer months. We also would have loved to make use of the screened-in porch in the front if it were warmer outside.

We had a wonderful stay at Birdie Cottage for Labor Day weekend! It is about a 15 minute walk outside of the downtown Saugatuck area. We found the space to be clean, modern, comfortable, and homey at the same time- exactly as listed- and especially loved that we could bring our dog, and there was a fenced in yard she could explore! There was a great kitchen, and even a grill outside for us to use to cook. A backyard and a screened in porch- in short everything you need to enjoy the weather and the scenery!

We had a great time staying at Birdie Cottage with beautiful weather during the summer season. The location is great- 10 minute walk to downtown, 10 minute drive to the beach, 10 minutes away from Holland.

The Birdie Cottage was a perfect weekend getaway! The house is hidden a little and set back behind the road compared to the other houses so it feels more private, yet still just a walk away from the restaurants and shops downtown. The bed is extremely comfy, and we loved cozying up to the fireplace every night. We also liked the fenced in backyard, as it allowed our dog to explore and roam free. Im sure well be back again!

This property is nicely tucked away off a street within easy walking distance to anything downtown Saugatuck. The cottage is unique with updated appliances making for a nice and cozy experience. We loved our stay! Saugatuck is a quiet little town and has shops, good coffee and food throughout Saugatuck and Douglas. We will be back soon! Thank you!

Birdie Cottage is in a great location. We walked into town at least 2 times a day. We were close to restaurants which made dinner easy. The cottage was comfortable and adorable.

If you want a lake cottage feel, Birdie Cottage is the place. The porch is a place to waste away an afternoon reading or being visited by a deer. Even though it is close to town, it sits back behind trees and has a woods feel. Loved our stay and will be back!

We had a great stay at the Birdie Cottage. The house was beautifully remodeled with classic original fixtures blended in that worked so well. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our two pups. It was a 5-10min walk into the most charming town passing by gorgeous homes along the way. Oval beach was a quick drive, and just as beautiful as everyone says. We would definitely stay again if we take another trip to Saugatuck, MI!

The check-in process was good & close to the property. The staff was friendly/knowledgeable. The area was very nice! We enjoyed walking near the water. Everything about the property was amazing.
