West Side County Park

A beautiful place for picnics, family get-togethers, special events, or watching the sunset, this park has a sparkling beach along with pavilions, playgrounds, restrooms, and picnic areas. Getting there: Park at 2152 Lakeshore Dr. in Fennville and take the stairway or ADA-accessible ramp down to the beach.

Celebrated around the world for its beautiful sweep of shoreline and backdrop of rolling dunes, this is the main beach in town and the most happening place to soak in the sun. Its impressive pedigree of awards (Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 25 Beaches in the World, National Geographic Traveler’s Top Freshwater Beaches in the USA, and MTV’s Top 5 Beaches in the USA) is proof of its status as a summertime favorite and natural beauty spot. Easy parking, concessions, and a picnic area will keep the whole group happy until the sun goes down. Parking: $15 per car (collected 8am-9pm, Memorial Day-Labor Day), $75 season pass. Day passes & season passes are purchased at the beach gate. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Beach entry is free Labor Day-Memorial Day. Other Info: Bathrooms are open daily 8am-8pm. Portable Toilets are available after 7pm. Concession stand hours vary based on weather, demand, and staffing. There is a strict no dogs, and no alcohol policy. There are no chair or umbrella rentals available at the beach.

Saugatuck Dunes State Park

Get back to nature in this state-owned park, featuring 2.5 miles of secluded beach and 200-foot tall wooded dunes. Four trails, ranging from 2.5 to 5.5 miles, offer a chance to explore dunes and shore on foot or cross-country skis. Getting there: Park in the picnic area at 64th & 138th in Saugatuck, and hike 10 minutes on a sandy trail to the beach. State park permit or day use fee required

South Haven is fortunate to have seven public beaches or access sites.  The North and South Beaches are the largest and most frequently used. Both have concession stands, restrooms, play equipment, and parking areas. North Beach is set up for volleyball games. Parking fees collected through the "park and pay program" are used to operate the beach cleaner, providing the public with the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in Southwest Michigan.

Newcome Beach is a tiny strip of sand that is surrounded by private property. You will find this tiny gem located just off Blue Star Highway and North Shore Drive. When you sunbathe here, you will feel as though you are lounging on the sands of your own private beach. It is a great place to take a picnic and it is a beautiful place to watch the sunrise and sunset.
